Turn, Turn, Turn: Embracing Change

As human beings, change is inevitable. Whether we’re gaining or losing a friend, making a pivot in our personal or professional lives, or moving somewhere new, these shifts shape our journey. While growth excites us, the act of transitioning can be really scary. With the Autumn Equinox behind us and the New Moon coming up, this is the perfect time to learn to embrace these changes.

If the title didn’t clue you in already, our theme song this month is Turn! Turn! Turn! by the Byrds, as it wouldn’t leave my head while I was planning my posts for this cycle. Take a listen if you’ve never heard it before! It’s an anti-war song from the 1960’s and based on verses from the Bible, sharing a message of life’s cyclical nature. It also reminds me of the Wheel of Fortune tarot card, the ever-turning wheel that carries us through life’s inevitable changes.

The Importance of Transition

Change invites growth, even if it feels uncomfortable. In both personal and business contexts, transitions offer a chance to realign with your purpose and open up new opportunities. When we resist change, we limit our potential and hold on to outdated practices. Whether you’re pivoting your brand, launching a new product, or simply evolving as a business owner, these shifts offer valuable lessons. They teach us flexibility and resilience, qualities that every successful entrepreneur needs.

My Experience Letting the Tower Fall

Over the last year or so, I’ve been going through a lot of changes. In the thick of it all, I had a conversation with someone I met through Holisticism. They illustrated things for me using the tarot cards The Tower and The Star. They said that the towers we’ve built can often block out the hope of the star. Sometimes, the tower has to completely fall fo the ground in order for us to see the star and move forward.

For a little while, I felt like I was just kneeling in the rubble of the tower, looking at the star but not ready to move towards it yet. With big changes, it can be really hard to accept old endings and come to terms with new beginnings, but our lives are constantly changing, and learning to ride the waves rather than resist them can make our journeys so much smoother.

Astrological Insights for Fixed Signs

The first thing to analyze when looking at our resistance to change is our natal chart. Fixed Signs—Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius—are known for their deep-rooted nature, making them more resistant to change. If you have these signs in your natal chart, especially as your Sun, Moon, or Rising, you might find transitions particularly challenging. Taurus craves stability, Leo values consistency in identity, Scorpio tends to hold on to emotional control, and Aquarius can become fixed in their ideals.

Acknowledging these traits in yourself allows you to work with them rather than against them. When you understand how your astrology might be causing resistance, you can consciously shift into embracing change. Use this time to reflect on where these signs show up in your chart and how they might be holding you back from fully stepping into new opportunities.

Welcoming New Beginnings with Tarot

In tarot, few cards represent the spirit of new beginnings more powerfully than The Fool. This card invites you to step into the unknown with an open heart, trusting that the path will reveal itself as you go. It encourages a leap of faith—one that might seem reckless but is, in fact, the spark needed to move toward growth and transformation.

The Fool stands at the edge of a cliff, arms wide open, eyes lifted toward the sky. He has no map, no clear destination, only the certainty that forward is the direction he must go. His journey symbolizes the willingness to leave behind the familiar and step boldly into new experiences. For entrepreneurs, The Fool offers a potent reminder: sometimes, the most profound growth comes when we’re willing to risk the unknown.

Reflecting on Where You Feel Stuck

This week is about planting seeds for transformation, so let’s start by identifying where we’re resistant. Here are some journaling prompts to help you reflect:

  1. Where in my life or business do I feel stuck or resistant to change? If nothing comes up immediately, try meditating or pulling some tarot cards while asking your higher self for insight.

  2. What fears come up when I think about making a transition?

  3. How can I embrace the spirit of The Fool and approach change with curiosity and trust?

  4. What lessons can I learn from the Fixed Signs in my chart? How can I soften their need for control or stability?

As you write, allow yourself to explore what’s holding you back and what opportunities might emerge if you lean into the unknown.

Questions to ask yourself this week:
How can I embrace change with a sense of adventure and trust in the unknown? How can I accept that transformation and endings are necessary parts of life’s journey?

Change doesn’t always come easy, but it’s the key to growth, evolution, and new opportunities. The new moon invites you to trust that every transition leads you exactly where you need to go. Embrace it, and watch what unfolds.

Next week, we’re making an action plan for accepting and embracing change in our lives, so see you next week, moonbeam!
