Moving Back Home
Hi moonbeams,
I’m back after a month-long sabbatical! This time was so needed and so difficult, but I’m so grateful for the space I had to rest, heal, reflect, and grow. Stepping away gave me clarity on how I want to share my voice and how I want to show up in my business moving forward (more on that coming soon).
One thing became very clear: my Substack days are over.
Recently, I learned (thanks to this post from Sue-Jan) that Substack continues to give a platform to neo-nazis and other extremist groups. That realization, along with this recent news article and the open letter from 2023, made me pause. I hadn’t even heard before that this was an issue, and hadn’t spent enough time on the platform to see anything like that. But now that I know, I can’t stay on a platform that chooses “free speech absolutism” over community safety and responsibility.
My values — empowerment, adaptability, sustainability, creativity, and introspection — guide everything I do. Supporting my work on Substack no longer aligns with those values, so I’m bringing my writing back home, to this space on my website.
What you can expect here going forward:
Journal-style reflections: what I’m learning, noticing, and integrating.
Advice & strategies: creative, sustainable approaches to design, marketing, and organization.
Case studies & stories: insights from my own business journey and the client work I love.
Creative sparks: experiments, practices, and tools to help you align your digital presence with your values.
This way of sharing feels more like me: less tied to strict schedules, more in tune with the ebb and flow of inspiration. When something lights me up, I’ll write about it.
I’m so grateful for the community that’s gathered around my words so far. If you’d like to continue this journey with me, this blog is the place. Thank you for walking with me through cycles and seasons. I’m excited to see where this new chapter takes us.
With love,
Grace
