Building Bridges to Abundance

It feels kind of surreal to publish this right now, honestly. So many of us in the United States (and around the world) are feeling raw and heavy-hearted after the election. The world is asking a lot of us, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed by the weight of it all. However, through the hopelessness I felt at first, I’ve found my resilience again. I refuse to let this keep me down.

As a queer woman, survival is resistance, and I plan on continuing my journey of growth and healing no matter what, and I hope you will too. In these next few weeks, remember to show yourself compassion. You’re allowed to take things slow, to focus on small steps, and to embrace any moment of peace that finds you.

Moving Sustainably

The journey from scarcity to abundance is never immediate. It’s a gradual shift, the result of many small, deliberate choices and intentional steps that anchor us in a sustainable path forward. In this first quarter moon phase, we’re called to commit to a new way of thinking and to plant seeds of abundance. This time, however, we’re not focusing on big, sweeping changes but rather the manageable steps that bring us closer to financial ease.

In today’s post, we’ll explore how to ease out of scarcity mindset, emphasizing sustainable actions that feel approachable and encouraging. Through small adjustments we can start shifting from a mindset of lack to one of abundance.

Astrological Influences

To understand our approach to abundance, it’s helpful to look at Saturn and the sixth house in our birth charts. These reveal the roots of our scarcity beliefs and the patterns that may be holding us back from feeling secure and abundant. Let’s explore how these influences might be shaping our financial mindset.

Saturn: Limits, Fears, and Hard Lessons

Saturn represents discipline, boundaries, and the lessons we learn through limitations. Here, Saturn prompts us to confront our fears about security and worth by shining a light on where we feel insufficient or restricted.

But Saturn is also a wise teacher. His lessons may be tough, yet they are aimed at helping us build lasting structures. With Saturn, the path to abundance is a patient one, rooted in responsibility and resilience. When we learn to respect our limits, manage our resources wisely, and work within the bounds of our reality, Saturn rewards us with a foundation that holds steady over time. So, if Saturn is calling you to confront a fear or limit this week, see it as an invitation to build something stronger, brick by brick.

The Sixth House: Daily Work, Consistency, and Sustainable Success

The sixth house governs daily work, health, and the routines we rely on. This house speaks to the small, everyday habits that shape our experience and influence our relationship with abundance. When scarcity seeps into the sixth house, it can manifest as overwork, burnout, and a relentless drive to “do more.” Often, this reflects a belief that there’s never enough time or productivity to feel secure or worthy.

To shift out of this mindset, the sixth house teaches us that abundance is not about frantic effort but rather about consistency, balance, and purpose. It invites us to find fulfillment in manageable routines that support our goals without sacrificing well-being. This week, consider what small adjustments you could make to your daily routine that might support a more abundant mindset. This might be a ritual of journaling to track gratitude each morning, setting limits on work hours, or building in moments of rest and self-care. When we approach our work with balance and gratitude, we create a steady, sustainable path to success that is rooted in ease rather than scarcity.

Small Steps

A scarcity mindset can be a heavy burden to bear. It’s the feeling of “not enough”—not enough money, time, support, or even personal worth. When we’re caught in this mindset, it’s easy to feel stuck, chasing the idea of abundance but never quite reaching it. Shifting this perspective doesn’t mean taking drastic action; it often starts with the simple decision to see things differently.

Here are some simple but impactful steps you can take this week to bring more abundance into your life:

  • Practice Daily Gratitude
Each day, take a moment to write down three things you’re grateful for, focusing on qualities within yourself or small moments of beauty you encountered. Keeping a record ensures that even when you’re struggling to feel grateful, you have your past moments of gratitude to draw on. This practice helps redirect your focus from what’s lacking to the abundance that already surrounds you. By acknowledging these blessings consistently, you open yourself up to more.

  • Celebrate Others’ Successes
Instead of seeing others’ accomplishments as competition, try to celebrate them as proof that abundance is possible for everyone, including you. When you notice a friend or colleague succeeding, let it serve as inspiration that there’s more than enough to go around. Consider even reaching out to offer them congratulations or reflect on what about their journey inspires you!

  • Create a Joy Ritual
Set aside a few minutes each day to engage in something that brings you joy. This could be as simple as savoring your morning coffee, listening to music, or taking a mindful walk. These moments of joy remind us that abundance doesn’t only come from external achievements or acquisitions; it’s also found in small, fulfilling moments. My favorite joy ritual is drinking tea on my back patio in the mornings, hearing the birds and feeling the cold air around me while the tea offers me warmth.

Questions to ask yourself this week:
What unique skills or resources do I already possess that could help me create financial security? How can I take charge of my financial journey with confidence and determination?

Steady, deliberate progress is the core of this first quarter moon phase. Let this week be about committing to small changes that create big shifts over time. If you find yourself feeling anxious or impatient for results, think of the message of the 8 of Wands reversed: rushing can often lead to burnout, confusion, and unintended setbacks. Instead, trust that each small step is moving you closer to your goal.

By taking these steps, you’re building a bridge to a future that’s grounded in abundance, not scarcity. It may take time, and the progress may be slow, but know that each action, no matter how small, is bringing you closer to a more abundant life. Let this first quarter moon be a reminder that you are capable of creating the a life filled with abundance - one mindful, intentional action at a time.
